Blackmores post event

Congratulations to the amazing Team Bandaged Bear runners in the 2016 Sydney Running Festival.

The incredible work of Head Cardiac Surgeon, Dr Winlaw, and the support of the Heart Centre’s team inspired Dean and his family to lace up their running shoes and take on their very first Half Marathon. Dean’s infant son Peter was 4 days old when he needed life-saving open heart surgery at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

So far, Dean Vasil and his family has raised over $26,000 in donations and they’re still going strong! Well done Dean, Peter, Maria, Steve, Alex, Denese, Dena and Daniel.

All our 90 Team Bandaged Bear runners deserve a huge thank you. You ran hard, and you ran long. Your supreme fundraising efforts have already brought in $41,500 of our $50,000 target!

If you haven’t created a fundraising page yet or simply haven’t started asking for donations, there is still plenty of time. Create your page here and share your achievement, so together we can make a difference for sick children.

A big mention must go to the dedicated volunteers who supported our marathon runners at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The drink station was bombarded by thirsty runners desperate you get their hands on refreshing cold water at the 10km mark. Thank you to Shilpa, Varun, Ruth, Riyan and Lisa, we couldn’t have done it without you!
